Il décide de donner une leçon aux jeunes groupes à succès du moment (Visage, Gary Numan, Ultravox, The Human League, Japan,...) qui lui doivent à peu près tout et à qui il dédicace le texte de Teenage wildlife. Steve Strange, le chanteur de Visage et symbole vivant du courant ‘Nouveau Romantique’ en vogue, est invité à figurer dans le clip de Ashes to ashes. Le verdict : La mission est réussie : Scary monsters dispute à Gentlemen take polaroids de Japan le titre de meilleur album new wave (et genres assimilés) de l’année 1980. Scary monsters est aussi le dernier très grand disque de Bowie avant le virage « pop putassière pour stades » entamé avec Let’s dance. Assurément, l’un des albums les plus attachants de Sa Majesté !
très certainement, son dernier GRAND disque du début à la fin.
après l’incohérent et faiblard "Lodger", BOWIE a mis le paquet sur "Scary Monsters ...And super Creeps". aucun défaut 30 ans après sa parution.... !

Ouuiiii, moi aussi.
Le clip présenté en exclu à la fin du journal de 13h par Mourousi (tout comme Another brick in the wall de Pink Floyd).
Je ne voudrai pas faire mon vieux con, mais une grande époque, pour sûr.
